Budgie Book respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the Budgie Book mobile application on iOS or Android.
Information We Collect
Budgie Book does not require you to create an account and does not directly collect your name, email address, address, or other personal profile information.
Some information may be processed automatically by third-party services used by the app for analytics, crash reporting, advertising, maps, and purchases.
Budgie Identification and Photos
Budgie Book allows you to take a photo or choose an existing photo to identify characteristics of your budgie.
Identification is performed locally on your device using on-device machine learning models.
Photos selected for identification are not uploaded to our servers for analysis.
The app only accesses photos that you explicitly select or capture using the camera.
Analytics and Crash Reporting
Budgie Book uses Google Firebase Analytics to help understand how the app is used and improve the user experience.
The app also uses Firebase Crashlytics to detect crashes and technical problems. Crash reports may include information such as:
- Device model
- Operating system version
- App version
- Crash logs and stack traces
- Diagnostic and technical information
- App interaction information related to a crash
This information is used to improve the stability and performance of Budgie Book.
Advertising
Budgie Book uses Google AdMob to display advertisements.
Google Mobile Ads may process information such as:
- IP address
- Advertising identifiers
- Device identifiers
- App interactions
- Diagnostic information
- Advertising data
This information may be used for advertising, analytics, measurement, and fraud prevention.
Where required, Budgie Book uses Google's consent tools to allow users to manage advertising privacy choices.
Users who purchase the Remove Ads option will no longer be shown advertising within Budgie Book.
Habitat Maps
Budgie Book uses Mapbox to display habitat maps and geographic information about budgerigars.
Mapbox may process device and usage information as part of providing its mapping services.
Budgie Book's habitat map does not require your precise location to display information about wild budgie habitats.
Mapbox provides additional information about its own data practices in its privacy documentation.
In-App Purchases
Budgie Book offers an optional Remove Ads purchase.
Payments are processed by:
- Apple App Store on iOS
- Google Play on Android
Budgie Book does not receive or store your payment card or banking information.
The app may store information necessary to determine whether the Remove Ads entitlement has been purchased.
Internet Access
Some parts of Budgie Book require an internet connection, including content such as remote images, media, maps, advertisements, analytics, crash reporting, and purchases.
Budgie identification itself is designed to work offline.
Third-Party Services
Budgie Book uses services provided by third parties, including:

Data transmitted between Budgie Book and supported online services is generally transmitted using encrypted HTTPS connections.
However, no electronic transmission or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Children's Privacy
Budgie Book is a general-audience educational application about budgerigars and is not specifically directed at children.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.
Third-party services used by Budgie Book may process technical information according to their own privacy policies and applicable laws.

Depending on your device, region, and applicable law, you may be able to manage:
